Hello all! Well, this is the start of a number of posts and ideas that will explore the Obama Age and the Obama Generation. I will also explore the concept of "post-racial" and "post-civil rights."
I also would like to look at issues of identity - what does it mean to be black now? How do we deal with the fact that the most powerful man on the planet is a black man? How do we deal with the disconnect? The admission, by some whites, that "reparations" have been paid?
How do we reconcile that all of this co-exists with empirical evidence to the contrary? Or does it? What replaces race now? Class? Homophobia? Is it disingenous to say that race is replaced? How do you feel now when you see African-Americans so freely waving the American flag?
These are all things that will be explored in the coming months....
My website will be active soon. You can access it at: IsmsandIssues.com
Talk to you soon!
